You can help your child achieve these goals by: Gathering a collection of objects such as stickers, stuffed toys, rocks, models and ask your child to count the collection in at least two different ways. Place 6 coins in a row. Ask your child: "How many pennies are there?" Add a dime to the row and ask: "How much money is there altogether?" Continue adding dimes until you reach 96 cents. Have our child explain how he or she found the answer to 64 + 9. Then, work together to think of 3 more pairs of numbers that add to 73. Label cans and packets of food with different prices from 1 cent to 33 cents. Choose an amount between 50 and 99 cents. Ask your child to find 3 items that together cost that amount. Work with your child to write subtraction stories based on a picture in a book. Take turns with your child creating money riddles.
