Hi everyone. I would love it if you would watch this video and then comment about the water cycle. We have learned so much about the importance of water and I know that you have a lot to say. I look forward to reading your comments.

  1. if we did not have the sun the water cycle would not work out because the sun is part of evaporation. The water cycle is made of evaporation, condensation and precipitation.
Please don"t wash your car on the road because when it rains the rain push's the bad stuff into the drain and then it goes into lakes, rivers and ocean and then it makes the animals sick.

    1. I think that most people don't know that the soapy water goes into the ground and joins the water table which then goes to the rivers, lakes and oceans. I wonder how we could educate people about that?

  2. We can save water by.Not washing our cars outside because the soap in the water goes down the drain and in the lakes and rivers and can either make the fish sick or make them die.The first thing in the water cycle is evaporation next is condensation and last is precipitation.

    1. Brooke it's so cool that your Mom gave us posters about the City of Calgary's water treatment process. I will share them with the class on Monday!

  3. We can save water by... turning off the tap when we brush our teeth or washing our hands.Do not wash your car in your drive way please do it in a car wash because it could go down the drains and go in the ocean and lakes or streams it will hurt the fish or make them die all because of the chemicals. The sun is biggest part of the water cycle if we didn't have it there will be no water cycle.

  4. The Water Cycle is very important. We need water to survive. We use water for drinking, brushing our teeth and watering our plants. The Water Cycle starts with evaporation. Next condensation. Last precipitation. Evaporation is when the water rises up into the sky. Condensation is when the water drops change into clouds. And precipitation is when it comes down as rain, snow or hail. We have to do our part and not waste water. You should also go to a car wash and not wash your car at home on your drive way because the soapy water could go down the drain and it will go strait to the ocean and make the sea animals sick.

    1. Carina you are exactly right - the water cycle is important and people have to do their part to conserve the water that we have. Did you know that 70% of water on earth is salt water?

    2. Yes. Yes I did know that 70 percent of water on earth is salt water. It is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. We can save water by..... turning off the water taps in my house and if it is leaking. Do not wash your car on the road because it can go in the lake and it is bad chemicals for the fish in the lake and the tadpoles and frogs also and wash your car in the car wash. The sun heats up the little water drops and the water drops goes up into the sky and makes a cloud and then it goes down. And it starts all over again.

    1. Janelle there are many ways to save water and you shared 2 of them with us. I am glad to hear that you turn off your taps when you brush your teeth. That is a big step in conserving water. Way to go!

  6. It starts to rain and when it gets to hot and the water starts to turn into gas and it starts to go up into the sky and they get together and forms a cloud and that's called condensation then when it forms into cloud it gets to heavy it goes back on the ground and that"s called precipitation .Evaporation is when the turns into gas and goes up in the sky . Some places in the Earth don't get that much water in fact some people have to walk lots of miles to get they even have bath in it in the same dirty water that's why we have to save water.

    1. Great comments Preston. Did you know that more than one billion people in the world live without clean water - that's one in every six people?

  7. i just watched an awesome video about the water cycle. I know why it's important because if we didn't have a water cycle it would be hard to find water and it wouldn't be clean. in Africa they have to walk miles to get water. The water cycle is very important if we did not have the sun the water wouldn't evaporate and it wouldn't make a cloud ( condensation) and then the rain, sleet, snow and hail will not come down (precipitation) so that's why it's important.

    2. well i do have a suggestion to keep water clean. tell people to make sure the gas in their car does not leak

  8. I will save water by turning of the tap and don,t make it drip. the water goes. around the water cycle.water evaporates to the sky. They join together to make a cloud.then it rain,s again.

    1. I thought that the video showed us the water cycle in a new way. It made it very clear how the raindrops join together to form a cloud. Your suggestions for conserving water are excellent. I guess you can be the water tap inspector in your house now that you know about water conservation.

  9. The water cycle story. The water gets heated by the sun and turns into a gas. Once the water is a gas it rises into the air called evaporation. That is the first step. once the gas is in the air it turns back into air. Once that happens it turns into a cloud. That is the second step. Now the water inside the cloud is joining together and getting heavy. Once it is too heavy it falls down as rain or snow.

  10. the water cycle is important. you should not wash your car on the road or the fish and other animals well be sick. It is important that you should not waste water when your washing your teeth.

  11. The water cycle goes over and over again. The scientific words for the water cycle is evaporation, condensation and precipitation that is the three scientific words. we should all ways put off the tap when it's running.

    1. I agree - it is so sad that people litter and the litter ends up in lakes, rivers or oceans. Did you know that there is a huge bunch of plastic floating in the ocean? I hope the animals don't try to eat it.

    2. did you no not that if you wash your car outside the soap will go down the drain and into the lakes and it will hurt the animals in the ocean. did you know that oil kills thousands of animals each year.

  14. when the water evaporation it means that it turns into gas and then it goes into the sky.
Then all the little drops of water huge each other and that is called condensation it is when the little drops of water huge each other then the cloud gets heavy then the little drops of water fall down to the ground and the water cycle starts all over again. Also if you are washing your car you should wash your car inside not outside because the soup has chemicals in it so you should wash your car inside.

    1. Condensation is when the gas (vapor) turns back into a liquid. It was really neat how they showed the water droplets hugging each other when they were forming a cloud. I hope that you share your knowledge with everyone about the danger of washing cars on driveways. We don't want that soap hurting our little creatures.

  15. That was a cool show on the water cycle evaporation means that the water turns into gas and goes into the sky. condensation means the water droplets form a giant cloud. precipitation is when it snows rains or hails.I LL save water by fixing leaking taps.

    1. Hi Cass - when the vapor reaches the sky and gets very cold it causes the vapor to change back to a liquid and that is the process of condensation. The video showed the water droplets hugging each other and forming the cloud to get ready to come back to earth as precipitation. Do you have any suggestions for how people can keep our water supply clean?

    1. We certainly don't want our fish and other sea creatures to get sick so that is a great suggestion. What do you know about the water cycle? Do you know the scientific terms that describe it?

  17. I can save water by turning off the tap when I brush my teeth . Some people don"t know that there will be no water left if we waste it. Some people have to walk miles and miles away just to get a bucket of water. That is not very good for them. In the water cycle it rains, then the sun heats up the water, then the water evaporates, then turns into gas. It goes up in the sky and turns into water droplets, they connect together and form a cloud. Then the cloud gets heavy and the rain or snow comes out and falls to earth. Then it goes all over again.

  19. by Emma - Some people collect rain water in rain barrels. Then they use the water to water their plants and food. My mom helps the fish by not washing her car outside with soap just water. In the water cycle I like it when the water goes up in the sky. That is called evaporation.

    1. Hi Emma, I moved your post from one section to this one which is why it is appearing as mine. I, too, have a rain barrel. We use it for watering our trees and plants. Last year it got so full that I had to buy a second one. I'm glad that your Mom is careful with her car washing. Our sea creatures are very important to our environment.
