Landmark Photo Challenge!
Here is a challenge to all who are interested. We have been learning about landmarks both in Calgary and in other communities. We know that the Calgary Tower is a landmark for Calgary and that the Inuksuk is a landmark in Iqaluit. I am wondering if you can find landmarks for other cities and post a picture and the name of the city and landmark. I will start us off with a picture of a landmark that I am going to see in June. You might have trouble inserting a photo - if you do, please type in the link to the picture or send me the photo by email and I can insert it.

Hi Mrs. Belanger,
ReplyDeleteI am very excited to see what landmark photos and links your students will add.
I thought I would post a landmark too.
I wonder if your students can guess what the landmark is and where it is located if I give them a few clues? They can click on the link below to see if they are right.
Here are the clues:
I am a famous landmark.
I am made out of concrete and steel.
Young children sing a song about me.
They fall down a lot while singing it!
The name on the song is not my real name.
Can you guess which landmark I am and where I am located?
Go to this link to see if you are right:

Hi Class - I want to share with you some information on the Statue of Liberty. The statue was built by a sculptor named Frederic Auguste Bartholdi. He was commissioned to do a sculpture to celebrate the American Declaration Of Independence. This statue became a joint effort between America and France. The Americans built the granite pedestal and the French built the statue. It cost lots of money and was very difficult to build.
